An Amazing Start to the 2017-18 School Year
The 2017-18 school year is off to an amazing start! All 67 of our schools and special programs rolled out the red carpet to welcome our students and families back to school this morning and the commitment of our employees was evident everywhere. From our bus drivers who hit the road early this morning to our custodial and maintenance staffs who are still working tonight, the Fayette County Public Schools employee family worked as a team to ensure that our students started the school year off right.
Employees from the district office were assigned to assist at every single one of our campuses today and for as long as they are needed. They pitched in anywhere they were needed helping with a little of everything, including bus tags, registration, and emergency spills. I had an opportunity to visit all six of our high schools today.
Since a picture is worth a thousand words, below I’ve included just a few snapshots taken around the district today. I also want to share a few videos that capture the excitement of the day:
- The staff at Bryan Station High School showed off their musical side in this video
- The Principal and PGES coach at Maxwell Elementary filmed this video for their students to watch on the night before school.
- FCPS TV assembled these highlights of our first day back.
Thanks for a great job today! Let’s make a difference in the lives of our students again tomorrow.
