Family University

On Saturday, we held our first Family University event for the year!  FAMU reflects our core value that families are our partners, and as such we believe in the following:

1. Building positive relationships with our families
2. Linking our families to learning
3. Addressing differences and fostering a more inclusive environment with our families
4. Empowering our families to advocate for their child(ren)

FAMU is designed to accomplish the aforementioned while engaging families and children in both learning and fun!  Families engaged in workshops to learn about our new and exciting curriculum for English language arts K-12, as well as, how best to support their child(ren).  Families received access to the online curriculum suite K-5 to support their child’s literacy development in all areas.  Students who attended participated in our Youth Academies for all ages.  We were even treated to performances by our students during the welcoming and lunch.
