Week In Review
Another great week in Fayette County! This past week, I had the pleasure of attending our monthly principals’ meeting followed by our annual holiday luncheon. Also, in partnership with Fayette County Education Association, we held our first ever Substitute Recognition Event to honor our substitutes for giving so much to our students and families. This was particularly heart warming because our substitutes, many of whom are retired teachers, are under attack by the proposed pension bill to freeze their annual cost of living increase for the next five years. Hence, we must continue to advocate in support of our retired, current, and future teachers.
Lastly, I attended our Family University event on Saturday. This event was well attended and families were provided with tools to support their children and better partner with our schools. Kudos to human resources and FACE (Family and Community Engagement) offices for their exemplary work!
