Week In Review
Another wonderful week in Fayette County! This week I had the pleasure of participating in Career Day at one of my high schools. I shared with my students my leadership journey and answered questions about my post secondary education and careers. Kudos to my teachers and students for inviting me to this event! I also participated in the monthly REAL MEN READ program at one of my elementary schools. I enjoy reading to first grade students as we strive to create a community of readers and learners. We held our District Safety Advisory Council meetings this week. The first forum was comprised of a student panel and the discussion focused recommendations from our students on supports needed at school and in the community to increase safety. The second forum focused on social media.
I attended our On The Table press conference in support of our community wide conversations that will take place on March 28th. Lastly, I attended the LIFT (Lifting and Impacting Futures Today) Conference to support students and families with successful transitions to post secondary. Kudos to the Urban League Young Professionals and the YMCA Black Achievers for supporting this initiative!
