Teacher Appreciation Week: May 7 – 11

Dear Fayette County Public Schools Community:

Since 1984, the National PTA has recognized the first week of May as Teacher Appreciation week. But here in Fayette County, we have such amazing educators that we’re going to celebrate all month long.

I’d like to kick off the celebration today by sharing this video with you about the teacher who helped me become the man I am today. All month long, we want to feature other stories of great teachers on our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts as well as our website and FCPS-TV.

We all got to where we are in our lives with help from a teacher. For me it was Mr. Glines. For you it may have been the kindergarten teacher who helped you fall in love with story time. Or the band teacher who opened the world of music to you. Or the algebra teacher who showed you that you are a “math person” after all.
