Lexington Roots and Heritage Festival 2018
A great week in Fayette County that ended with the Lexington Roots and Heritage Festival! This past week, I had the pleasure of facilitating professional learning with our school and district leaders, attended the United Way luncheon, attended Doc Brown’s college course held at Crawford Middle School with 8th grade students, and attended our Redistricting Public Meeting on Thursday evening.
United Way Campaign:
United Way has set as a goal for this year’s campaign to raise $4 million to support organizations in our community that seek to have a collective impact on improving the lives of children and families in our community. I ask that you and your organization support this campaign and help United Way reach its goal!
Doc Brown’s College Course at Crawford Middle School:
Doc Brown engaged students at the “No Excuses University” where he challenged our 8th graders to not make excuses, but instead use every day as an opportunity to become a better scholar, a better person, a better you. Doc Brown encouraged students to FOCUS – Follow Only Course Until Successful. The message is to never give up on yourself or your dreams. You can do it!
Lexington Roots and Heritage Festival:
Kudos to FCPS Equity Office and employees who volunteered at the festival!
