15th Annual Coretta Scott King: Spirit of Ivy Awards

I had the pleasure of attending the 15th Annual Coretta Scott King, Spirit of Ivy Awards banquet on Saturday. Kudos to the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, Beta Gamma Omega and Pearls of Service Foundation for a great event!

The theme of this year’s event was “Bonds of Sisterhood: Breaking Every Chain”. The keynote speaker for this event was Dorothy Buckhanan Wilson, 29th International President of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

I was deeply humbled as Fayette County Public Schools was recognized for our work with community partners. Although I received the award on behalf of the district, this work is truly a testament of our Equity Office and the leadership of Mr. Darryl Thompson, Chief Equity Officer.

Also recognized during this event was Dr. Adair, Educating Boys of Color, with FCPS for his work with the Alpha League “Outstanding Organization” 2020 Honoree.
