26th Annual Unity Breakfast: Unity Strengthened Through Diversity
On Monday, I attended the Martin Luther King 16th Annual Unity Breakfast. Another sold event with over 1,000 attendees. This year’s theme was “Unity Strengthened Through Diversity”, and I must commend the brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, Alpha Beta Lambda Chapter Education Foundation!
During the Unity Breakfast, I graciously accepted, along with board member Daryl Love, the Unity Breakfast Award in recognition of FCPS effort in promoting Dr. King’s Dream of Unity within the Lexington community!
This honor was deeply humbling and a true testament of the work our 8,000 employees do each and everyday to make a difference in the lives of the children and families we serve. This work is also reflective of our amazing community partners who share a similar vision for transformational change to create access and opportunity that will lead to increased equity, equality, and social justice for all children.
Dr. King’s legacy lives on because of this event and the march that follows along with other events that focuses on his legacy. during this occasion.
