Happy New Year: Another Great Week in FCPS

Welcome back! This first week started out with us welcoming and on boarding our new district mental health professionals! We are excited after going through an extensive recruitment process.

I attended the Kentucky Chamber Dinner and all of those in attendance received a peek into this upcoming legislative session. By all accounts, if both parties focus on the needs of Kentuckians this will be a successful session.

We also launched our Scholastic Book Fair this week! Kudos to Mendy and our Title I schools, librarians, and weatherman Bill Meck for hosting this event! Kudos to our Kappa League and our Leestown leadership team!

On Saturday, BMW hosted a family event with motivational speaker Mr. Barnett. Mr. Barnett uplifted those in attendance through strengthening our faith and healing open wounds. The event concluded by recognizing students for their combined ACT score. Students and their parents received a jersey with the student’s ACT score!

The rest of the week was spent attending both boys’ and girls’ basketball games, visiting Squires Elementary School, and meeting with my CSI schools.
