The Scholastic Ball Report highlights local high school sports teams
High school sports are a very important tradition in the state of Kentucky and the Scholastic Ball Report covers them all. The program goes in depth about what’s what in high school sports today.
The show is hosted by UK grad and show producer, Gary Ball, and former MLB World Series champion, Doug Flynn. The Scholastic Ball Report is a great way to get caught up with your favorite local high school team.
“We just try to loosen our guests up a little before they come on the show because they are typically a little nervous,” Ball said. “Whatever the guests say is great and we just remind them that there is nothing to be nervous about.”
The Scholastic Ball Report has been airing for 14 years, and it is a great way to get caught up with local high school sports. The new season of the show aired on Sept. 4th at 12:30 pm EST featuring the HC volleyball team as the team of the week.
The Scholastic Ball Report is often seen as a stepping stone for someone wanting to get into the broadcasting business. The show hires interns every year to help around the set and to even broadcast on television themselves.
“I feel like my greatest accomplishment with this show is watching the interns grow and develop on the show,” stated Ball. “It is truly a great experience for the interns and will hopefully help them with their potential broadcasting career in the future.”
The show features local high school sports teams and brings student athletes onto the show for them to discuss their team’s success, recently including the HC cheer and volleyball team.
