HC presents check to UK DanceBlue

This past Sunday several members of HC DanceBlue attended the annual 24-hour dance marathon run by the University of Kentucky. The five seniors took the stage at 2:12 p.m. to present a check to the UK DanceBlue clinic. Seniors Caroline Couch, Anne Boggess, Joshua Pe, and Nick Joseph presented the $7,169.28 check in front of approximately 900 UK students.

HC English teacher Jessica Andrews, who brought DanceBlue to HC, was very excited about this years’ success.

“DanceBlue 2018 was another record-setting year: $1,804,068.77 raised FTK (for the kids)” Andrews said in her email to HC faculty and staff.

Andrews’ daughter, a student at HC, participated in DanceBlue fundraising in her own way. Elena and her lemonade stand raised $3,866.49 in the 24-hour marathon, raising her cumulative 2018 total to $6,003.33.

HC Senior Josh Pe was pleased to be a part of the experience. “For such a small amount…it’s very meaningful,” Pe said. “It helps kids all across the state.”
