Wrapping up the Dec. 13 2017 SBDM meeting
The December Site Based Council meeting began with a good news report, commemorating HC students, faculty and teams for their work.
The public comment held at the previous meeting concerning summer school assignments and homework was addressed. The council has decided to look further into the matter and prospects of a new policy will be considered.
HC budget and new course approvals were addressed, but there is only one definite new course for the following school year, an AP Research class.
The Safety and Wellness Policy, presented by HC Health teacher Lisa Hager, was passed after the second reading.
The meeting was concluded with the student report delivered by HC Student Representative Reagan Smith. Points of interest were students’ perspective on the summer homework issue. The meeting was adjourned after saying goodbye to SBDM member Terri Harrison, who is retiring after the fall semester. The next SBDM meeting will be held at 5:30 in the HC library on Jan 10.
