By Nina Rennard and Rowyn Moore

The Oct. 11 Site Based Decision Making Council began with HC Principal Paul Little giving the good news report. High School Nation has donated $30,000 worth of recording studio equipment to HC. Currently, HC has most of the equipment, with a drum kit and electric piano on the way. Also within the school, marching band came in first place in class AAA and won outstanding music. Four HC students also showed outstanding skill by getting perfect scores on the ACT.

The meeting continued with the report on DanceBlue’s progress. DanceBlue has raised $400 from Chipotle. HC teacher Joe Ratliff and HC student Jun Young Park won first place in Doubles Tennis Tournament.

Many fundraisers were approved such as Boys Basketball’s program advertisements, 5k Walk and many more. Puccini Restaurant Night was approved for DanceBlue, as well as Popcornopolis sales for ROTC.

Field trips were also a point of interest during this month’s meeting. The Baseball team and KYA-COED-Y were both approved to attend events out of the district.

The next SMDM meeting will be held on Nov 1 at 5:30 in the HC library.
