Marsh details top six November events

With the new month brings several exciting events to Lexington. The events range from shopping to ice skating, so there is sure to be something for everyone. Below are six upcoming November events listed in order of their occurrence.

1. Triangle Park Ice Skating Rink
November 11- January 3
The Unified Trust Company Ice Rink in Triangle Park opened for its seventh year on Nov. 11. Skates are available for rental and come with the admission fee. Specific times, rates and dates of closure are available on the Triangle Park website.

2. LexArts HOP
November 17 Starting at 5pm
With over 40 different sites to visit in downtown Lexington, including 24 galleries and museums, LexArts sixth and final gallery hop of the year is sure to draw a large crowd. The event officially starts at 5:00 p.m. and runs through 8:00 p.m. with some venues closing later. Each of the venues introduces a new exhibit for each HOP, so many patrons will be returning visitors. Thanks to the support and generosity of many, admission is free. 3. Hartland Holiday Bazaar
November 17 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
November 18 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The 19th annual Hartland Holiday Bazaar is hosted at the Hartland Club House. Local artists and their unique items are featured at the bazaar. Items include fused glass ornaments, candles, and original paintings and prints. Admission is free. More information is available on the bazaar’s Facebook page, @hartlandholidaybazaar.

4. Kentucky Book Fair
November 18 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Kentucky Humanities is presenting the 36th  Kentucky Book Fair at Alltech Arena located at the Kentucky Horse Park. Over 170 authors are attending, including featured authors Wendell Berry, George Ella Lyon, Bobbie Ann Mason, and Rita Mae Brown. HC’s own Keen Babbage will be presenting his book, The Best School: Practical Ideas on What Really Works in Education. Former Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear will also be in attendance, with his book People Over Politics. Parking and admission are free. 5. Holiday Artist’s Market
November 24 3:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.
Lexington’s official tree lighting ceremony will be held during the Holiday Market. The lighting will occur at 6:30 p.m. Food vendors and an entertainment stage will be on Main Street. All lighting will be in preparation for the Christmas Parade (presented by MetroPCS) on Dec. 5. Specific information is available on the Triangle Park website.

6. The Best Christmas Pageant Ever
November 25- December 3 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
The Lexington Opera House will host the performance presented by the Lexington Children’s Theatre. Ticket prices are $16 for children and $19 for adults. Public performances are held on Saturday, Nov. 25 at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 2 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 3 at 2:00 p.m. The performance is approximately one hour long. These are just a few of the events occurring in November.
